Lasers in the Electronics Industry

As circuits get smaller, mechanical tools become unusable. Laser drilling is now used for billions of interconnect holes. Components are laser marked for identification and ceramic substrates are laser scribed to size.

Being based in Silicon Valley, Laser Kinetics does a great deal of work with the electronics industry. Marking, which seems to be simple, gets quite tricky when the mark is microscopic. We have worked on texturing of hard drive platters (which stick if they're too smooth).
